on a house in the oakland hills. it happened around 3:30 this morning on oakwood drive, the tree estimated to be 75 foot tall crashed down on the corner of the roof. the downed tree also brought traffic on oakwood drive to a stop. firefighters say they do not know what caused that tree to fall. >>> an investigation is underway into a crash involving a scooter and a santa clara county sheriffs patrol car. the accident happened before 12:30 this morning in the area of west heading street and the alameda. investigators are trying to determine if one of the drivers may have run a red light. two people on the it scooter were taken to the hospital but their injuries are not believed to be serious. the deputy in the patrol car was not hurt. the vehicle sustained damage to the right front bumper. a couple of san francisco police cars will be out of action after an unusual crash. officers were investigating an argument on the 4000 block of mission street. police say pickup truck sideswiped a patrol car, sending it into a second police car. witnesses say officers had to scramble to avoid getting hit

'll be doing some critical work on the new oakland airport connector kron 4's charles clifford shows us what it will mean for drivers. >> reporter: this is a google earth map. starting saturday morning, bart will begin installing new railways over instate 880...here... just west of hegenberger road. this is part of the ongoing work to complete the new oakland airport connector. in order to finish the work, crews will first need to shutdown the two lefthand lanes of north bound 880 starting at 11am on saturday morning. that closure will last all day on saturday. then from 1am until 6am on sunday morning, caltrans will completely shutdown all northbound lanes of 880 at hegenberger road. the southbound lanes will remain open. cars travelling north can detour around the closure by first exiting 880 at hegenberger road. then they will have to turn left onto edes avenue, cross over hegenberger and continue along coliseum way. they will then drive past oracle arena and the coliseum before merging back onto northbound 880 just past 66th avenue. now this weekend's closures, will be repeated the follo

the oakland coliseum. this camera on a windy day demonstrates how gusty it is because it usually shakes back and forth. right now it looks okay, pretty steady. you can see traffic is moving at the limit as you head towards downtown. we have a couple of things to tell you about at the bay bridge. the metering lights are on so we are starting to see delays in the cash and fastrak lanes. there's also a stall just reported. i just got word of that from my producer westbound 80 by the center anchorage, one lane is blocked. they are working to clear it. they canceled the high wind advisory for the bay bridge. so apparently it's not quite as bad any longer but those other high wind advisories are still in effect. let's go to our maps. this is a live look at the golden gate bridge. traffic looks okay right now out of ma ryan county. caltrans had suspended overnight roadwork because of the wet roads. westbound 580 this is definitely one of our busier spots right now actually starting from 205 out of tracy and you will notice this continuous line of brake li

oakland, we have construction. we are looking at the northbound 80 highway 66, looking at three lanes blocked until 5:00 a.m. >> new overnight a gun battle left one person injured at a san francisco intersection of oak and scott street. police say two vehicles were shooting at each other. one of the cars ended up to front of san francisco general hospital. a man inside the car was taken to the hospital and he was shot in the arm. police are looking for the other involved car. >> three people are in critical condition after a violent head on collision in richmond. at 8:00 on 37th street a car crashed into a pickup truck. the truck flipped. at left one driver was speeding. a woman was ejected from the sports car and is clinging to life. one of three in the pickup is in critical condition. police are investigating whether speed was a major factor. >> 23-year-old man is accused of robbing the same bang -- bank for a second time in two months. an employee recognized the suspect when he walked in. high is suspected of robbing the same branch in february the he was arrested on highway 101.

in cities throughout the country, l.a., san francisco, oakland, chicago, new york. a black power ferment of people asking how do we take the gains in the successes and the power of the civil rights movement and translate into that power that can challenge poverty. the civil rights movement have been tremendously successful at dismantling jim crow and dismantling segregation but what it didn't do was it didn't provide an insurgent means to transform poverty. it didn't provide a way to change ghettoization and it didn't reach the full goal to the participants in the civil rights movement of freedom and power. what you have is really an in 66 it became a big cause. but power, how do we build black power? there were organizations in most major cities asking this question and try to think about it. there were a lot of different kinds of approaches. one important kind of answer to this was to say we are not just going to come its not that we just want to be part of america. america is an imperial power and we need to really challenge that imperialism and part them parcel the anticolonial strug

that arrested him in the state of oakland. >> why these items were stolen but because this is still an active investigation they are being very cautious about the information the release. in oakland, kron 4. stolen yacht. the three people arrested are facing grand theft and conspiracy charges. these are names and ages of the suspects. all three are set to be arraigned later this week. three people being held tonight on one million dollars bail. investigators say they stole a yacht from sausalito -- then ran it aground at a pacifica beach. kron4's jackie sissel reports from richmond, where the boat is now -- and shows us the damage. there is damage to the propeller. you can see this is one of the crewmembers surveying the damage. and the damage that was done. this is video from yesterday. were this entire bizarre thing started. the coast guard received a call of a boulder in distress. and the seven, and at that point they sent out the coast guard. eventually they discovered that three people had stolen the boat. they were still on the boat during this entire process. he eventually they got th
